This course develops skills in designing Raspberry Pi-based IoT systems, including GPIO and peripheral control, sensor interfacing, serial communication, computer vision, and cloud-edge integration. Students implement practical smart systems using communication protocols, cloud platforms, data processing, and embedded hardware.

Assignment - Case based 50%

Students are required to identify the problem, propose a Raspberry Pi-based solution, explain the hardware/software architecture, justify the choice of sensors and communication protocols, and present their findings through a written report and presentation.

Week 3 / 7

Rubric
Students will analyze a real-world case study based on Raspberry Pi applications such as Smart Home Automation, Smart Agriculture, Smart Healthcare, Smart Surveillance, Smart Traffic Management etc.

Project 50%

Suggested projects include Smart Home Automation, Weather Monitoring System, Face Recognition System, Smart Attendance System, Smart Irrigation, IoT-based Energy Monitoring, Object Detection, Smart Parking, Home Security System, or Cloud-based Sensor Monitoring using MQTT/ThingSpeak/AWS IoT. Students shall submit the project report, source code, demonstration video, and final presentation.
