Test 1 50%

Propositional logic, propositional equivalences, quantifiers, introduction to proof, direct proof, proof by contraposition, vacuous and trivial proof, proof strategy, proof by contradiction, proof of equivalence and counterexamples, mistakes in proof, recurrence relation, modelling with recurrence relations, homogeneous linear recurrence relations with constant coefficients, method of inverse operator to solve the nonhomogeneous recurrence relation with constant coefficient, generating functions, and solution of recurrence relation using generating functions.

Week 5 / 6

Rubric
To test the understanding of logic, proofs, mistakes in proofs, recursive processes, and the solution of recurrence relations.

Test 2 50%

Graph terminologies, special types of graphs including complete, cycle, regular, wheel, cube, bipartite and complete bipartite graphs, representing graphs, adjacency and incidence matrices, graph isomorphism, paths and connectivity for undirected and directed graphs, and Dijkstra's algorithm for the shortest path problem.

Week 8 / 9

Rubric
To test the understanding of graph theory concepts, graph representation, and path algorithms.

Test 3 50%

Subjective test covering the syllabus from CA1 and CA2.

Week 11 / 12

Rubric
To test the subject knowledge of the student and provide opportunity to improve their CA performance in case of low marks or missed CA.
