This course develops students' understanding and application of cost and management accounting, including cost classification, cost sheets, material costing, marginal costing, standard costing, variance analysis, financial statement analysis, ratio analysis, cash flow statements, and budgeting. It enables students to evaluate business performance and support managerial decision-making and financial planning.

Test 1 50%

There will be 3 questions of 10 marks each from the topics of cost sheet, classification of cost, methods of material issues, and marginal costing.

Rubric
To assess students' proficiency in preparing cost sheets and their understanding of various material issue methods and marginal costing techniques

Assignment - Case based 50%

Each student will be assigned a corporate firm and required to prepare a detailed report that includes classification and analysis of financial ratios and evaluation of the company's cash flow position. The assignment must cover interpretation of the Du Pont Control Chart, liquidity ratios, profitability ratios, solvency ratios, the firm's overall liquidity, profitability, and solvency position, and the company's overall financial health based on the Cash Flow Statement.

To assess students' ability to interpret the financial position of a given company

Test 2 50%

The test will be of 30 marks and will consist of three questions, each carrying 10 marks. The questions will be from Units I, II, V, and VI.

Week 11 / 12

Rubric
To test the subject knowledge of the students and provide opportunity to improve their CA performance in case of low marks or missed CA
