PENETRATION TESTING

INT245 3 Credits L:2 T:0 P:2 Minor Cyber Security

This course focuses on employability, entrepreneurship, and skill development in penetration testing, teaching students to safely conduct testing exercises and apply vulnerability scan strategies. Students will learn to identify footprinting techniques, demonstrate system hacking for Windows and Linux, and analyze cloud environments.

Test 1 will based be hands-on practical using Virtual environment (VMWARE workstation/Oracle Virtual Box). Based on EC-Council CPENT (certified penetration testing professional) CompTIA Pentest+ certification.

Rubric: one Practical question, job-evaluation -15 marks and viva 15 marks

Test 3 will be based hands-on practical. 30 Marks practical test generating integrated Penetration testing report.

Week 9 / 11

Rubric: Generating integrated Penetration testing report on information gathering phase[5marks], scanning phase[10marks], exploiting the target [10 marks] and suggesting remediation steps [5marks]
