This course develops students' English grammar, active listening, reading comprehension, critical evaluation, speaking, presentation, and written communication skills for effective communication in social and professional contexts.

Presentation - Individual 33.33%

Each student will prepare the initial drafts of their CV and Portfolio and deliver an oral presentation to showcase their professional profile and readiness for placements. The instructor will provide individual feedback on the presentation, CV, and Portfolio, helping students identify areas for improvement and refine their work. These initial drafts will serve as the foundation for further development, while the uploading of the CV to the placement portal and its final approval will be carried out during the 5th semester. Submission of a hard copy of the CV and the portfolio link is mandatory for all students.

Students will complete the assigned activities on the Oxford online platform, listen to ‘Know Your Company’ (KYC)-based audio track beforehand, and participate in a mock interview based on various Job Descriptions (JDs). Their performance will be evaluated based on the successful completion of online assignments, and their participation in the mock interview.

To evaluate students' understanding and performance through the assigned assignment (10 Marks) and mock interview (20 Marks)

Test 1 33.33%

Students will complete Listening, Reading, and Writing activities, along with the assigned assignments, on the Oxford online platform. Their assessment will be based on their performance in listening, reading comprehension tasks such as true/false/not given, fill-in-the-blanks, and multiple-choice questions, as well as writing and the assigned online assignment.

To assess students' Listening, Reading, and Writing skills (20 Marks), along with their performance in the assigned online assignment tasks (10 Marks)

Test 2 33.33%

Listening to a track, reading comprehension comprising true/false/not given questions, fill in the blanks, or multiple choice questions, writing task.
