This course examines the history of India from prehistoric cultures and the Indus Valley Civilization through the Vedic period, religious movements, the Mauryan Empire, and post-Mauryan developments up to 300 CE. It covers the evolution of mankind, ancient Indian cultures, political and socio-economic developments, religious movements, and the contributions of major dynasties.
