This course examines British poetry and drama from the 14th to the 17th centuries, focusing on their aesthetic, cultural, social, thematic, rhetorical, stylistic, and dramatic aspects. Students study prescribed works by Spenser, Shakespeare, Donne, Dryden, Aphra Behn, John Webster, Oliver Goldsmith, Wordsworth, and Keats.
