GEN532 — Research Methodology

Students select a relevant research topic, review a minimum of 15 peer-reviewed research papers, and write a structured review paper summarizing key findings, research trends (using appropriate statistics, graphs and tables) and gaps, and also prepare a PowerPoint presentation to communicate their review insights in class. Evaluated out of 30 marks: review paper 15 marks (relevance, coverage/quality of literature, depth of critical analysis and synthesis, structure and clarity), PowerPoint presentation 10 marks, and 5 marks for proper referencing/citation style and completeness/accuracy of the bibliography.

To enhance skills in reviewing research papers and presenting key insights effectively.

Students create a graphical abstract that visually represents the key findings of their review paper, clearly summarizing the core idea, process and conclusions, and present it in class with a brief explanation of its design and message. Total 30 marks: graphical abstract 20 marks (visual clarity and organization, accuracy in representing the review content, creativity and design aesthetics, effectiveness in summarizing key findings) and class presentation 10 marks (clarity of explanation, justification of design choices, ability to answer questions and engage the audience).

Subjective test from the syllabus covered from Unit 1 to Unit 5. Test will be of 30 marks having 6 questions of 5 marks each.
